Research interests
My research is focused on the new two-row barley breeding program and improving varieties by using novel applications of genomics. My projects involve using next-generation sequencing technologies to characterize the genetics of barley lines, evaluating ways to exploit genotype-by-environment interactions in genomic selection, and collaborating to harness the power of gene editing to answer important genetic questions. I am also interested in exploring high-throughput phenotyping systems and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for agriculture research. I hope to continue investigating questions in these fields as a professor.
