Education history

B.S. in Agronomy & Philosophy from Iowa State University

Research Interests

My research is focused on seedling vigor improvement for Silflower (Silphium integrifolium). Projects that I lead include the creation of a recurrent selection population for high seedling vigor, evaluation of genetic gain from selection, and conducting a genome-wide association study (GWAS) on the Silphium Domestication Panel (SDP) and Seedling Vigor recurrent selection population. These efforts should inform our understanding of silphium genetic architecture and create resources needed to efficiently conduct genomic selection within the UMN silflower breeding program.

Fun Fact
